​Rowan County High School Softball has a rich history of excellence.  The Lady Vikings were KHSAA Region 16 Champions in 2007 and 2008 and were Region 16 Runners-Up in 2009.  District Championships were earned in 1996, 1997, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2011, and 2013.  Our own Amber Riddle was named Kentucky's 2009 Miss Softball.  The team competes and practices at Lady Viking Field (dedicated in 2008) on the campus of Rowan County Senior High School.

 

​Lady Vikings Softball was established by Coach Larry Slone in 1995 when fast pitch softball was added by the Kentucky High School Athletics Association as an official sport. Coach Slone was inducted into the Kentucy Softball Coaches Association Hall of Fame on June 15, 2013.
